Opening the barn to my grandfathers barn after his death I found 2 motors. I never knew if they worked but took them. One I have found to be a 52-54 Evinrude Lightwin. It was in pretty good condition,so i decided to try to rebuild the ignition. I pulled all the covers, and the tank. Now my problem is the flywheel nut. who ever put it on has tightend very tight. I cant seem to get it off . I tryed to use the wrench in one havd and a glove on the other, but this did not work. I was woundering if there is a way to keep if from spinning when removing it without damaging important parts. Any help would be great. O by the way i sprayed penetrating lube on it and it did not do the trick. Gene

I don't want to run you off this site, but you should also check out the boating forums at http://www.iboats.com On you other project, I would assume you can tap and put a slightly larger screw in there. Also, if the lower unit is leaking water, you probably need new seals. Sounds like a great class.
