i have purchased a used evinrude 15 hp motor,i was told it is a late 70 model,,the motor runs great,has been taken care of and well maintained,after running for a couple of minutes it smells hot,i am not sure where the water is suppose to exit the motor,i have has a few people tell me from the hole in the side and from the hole in the back,and that it is circulated back down the shaft into the water,,,,which is correct,,,how can i tell thanks

Good afternoon all, i have a 1988 60hp johnson, i had some water in my gas tank, i installed a water seperator and replaced the plugs. After taking it out for a ride i pulled the plugs to check the condition, what i found was 2 of the 3 plugs had little white dots on, the 3rd one was just tan colored. Any idea what these white dots are??. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Markus
