My uncle has a 79 70 hp that hasent been on the water since 2001. I put new plugs in her got new fuel lines cleared the bowls on the carbs and cleand the air chamber out. Shell fire and run at high RPMs but when ya take her down off warm up she dies then she fires back up and will run again at high RPMs. The Electric choke seems to be working but theres no way to get her to run at lower RPMs so ya can shift her into gear
