My Johnson 7.5 is a 1982 (single fuel line) but the fuel tank is antique (double line). Is it possible to safely convert the tank to make them work together?

After taking apart the pump i noticed it was made out of soft rubber. The im peller is a soft rubber so you have to form it to get it in. is this the correct impeller for this motor.
