My Johnson 7.5 is a 1982 (single fuel line) but the fuel tank is antique (double line). Is it possible to safely convert the tank to make them work together?

The impeller is made of rubber and you have to bend the tabs in order to fit it into the impeller housing. Be sure to bend these the correct way so they go with the rotation of the crankshaft. One of the pictures on my 5.5 Project shows the direction the impeller tabs should be orientated. This is also why they say not to roate the crankshaft backwards because this could damage the impeller. Obviously the impeller should only spin one way.
