i have a 1987 evanrude 88 spl with an electric choke, not the butterfly style, it is an elec. injector type on top with a pointed turn valve on it, the boat runs great but has to crank quite a while to start cold, i have built the carbs. installed fibreglass reed valves the choke solenoid squirts some when choking, dont know if its adjustible

Robert, If you don't know, use 32:1 TCW-3 rated oil to 87 octaine gasoline. That motor may be rated for 50:1 but having a little more oil will not hurt and will be safe enough if it is really 24:1. You might ask the guys at iboats.com Johnson/Evinrude forum to be sure but 32:1 will get you through your fishing trip. Good luck, I plan to go fishing as well.
