Hi Thank you very much for your very detailed instructions available on your site. I have a few questons for you regarding the conversion to a non-pressurized tank for my '57 Evinrude 5.5 Hp motor: Q1. Is it possible to just leave 1 of the check valves and the spring in place as a way of plugging one of the holes? This seems like a simple way to use existing hardware to do the job, rather than adding a piece of hose. If required, I would be prepared to modify the hardware if this works. Q2. If the answer to Q1 is no, can you clarify your instruction about how to use the vacuum hose to plug the hole? If I understand your instruction properly, you are recommending that I use an oversized piece of hose to be squashed between crankcase and the intake manifold cover to plug the hole. Is this correct? If yes, will this hose leak due to temperature extremes resulting from the different Coefficient of thermal expansion between the rubber hose and the aluminum metal? Are there guidelines to size the hose to avoid leaks? Q3. As a follow-up to your instructions, I also read on the "duckworksmagazine.com" site of another way to plug the hole. Although, that method seemed to be more complicated, involving more dismantling and going in and using epoxy or cement to actually plug one of the passages. This seems so invasive & more risky. I was wondering if you have any comments about this method. Thanks again for you very well done website and you kind support, as I am just trying to find the easiest and safest way to do the conversion. cheers, John
