Doug I currently have all my parts except for this "plug", that our colleague JBK, so kindly described in his response (jbk/27jan07). I am assuming it is shaped like a golf "Tee", i.e. a slender cone, good for high temps (likely silicone based), that can be cut to length, squeezed into the crankcase casting hole and kept in place when re-assembled, in such a fashion that pressurized gases from the crankscase do not leak out. I tried unsuccessfully at an auto parts store to get a plug of this type. This is why I was trying to get specific information from anyone who was successful at doing this. This week I will try some speciality auto parts stores. Good luck to you as well. If I am successfull I will let you know what I find out. cheers, John
