I have bought a '54 Johnson 5.5 on E-Bay and it was shipped from West Virginia. P am completeing a cosmetic restoration but I would like to know what I should check before I try to fire it up for the first time. It was supposed to be owned by an outboard mechanic but it has set for a couple of years. The motor was very clean so I really think the seller was honest about it. Any help here would be extremely appreciated.
