My 1951 3.3 HP Evinrude Sportwin Model 4423 is leaking gear oil past the propshaft seal. The seal was damaged by monofilament fishing line. My parts explosion shows the seal as part number 210917. My local OMC deal is unable to supply the part, but says a seal specialty shop should be able to mic the propshaft and the seal and find a workable replacement. I don't want to trash the lower unit during disassembly and the parts explosion doesn't give me much to go on. Is there anyone out there that has been through a 3.3 HP Sportwin lower unit who can provide some coaching and advice?
