The motorr I'm asking about is a 1958 7 1/2 hp Evinrude.The motor is in very good condition but the party I bought it from dropped the motor and broke off the shift lever to the point where one can barely get ahold of it to shift it into gear.I kind of studied what it would take to remove and replace it.it appears as if it would be a big job. I don't mind trying but am I getting myself into something I might regret? gene
